Both gyms are open from 8am to 2pm on Bank Holiday Monday 28th August. 
We are open as usual on Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th August.

Polly Wins British Powerlifting Comp (again)

Last weekend Polly was up to it agian. Picking up the win at the British Powerlifiting Competition. She increased her Deadlift and Squat totals by 10kg and 5kg respectfully. Her totals were as follows.
Squat  155kg
Deadlift 180kg
Benchpress 60kg

Following on from the sucesses of TBT, we are launching a new product which some of you may be interested in. Group PT will allow you to have all the great benefits of personnal training in a small group setting. Sessions will be 1 hour and will consist of 4-8 people of similar fitness levels working towards your goals. For more information have a look at the link below or chat to one of the guys in the gym.

Total Body Transformation (T.B.T) Course

 A six week fitness course that will totally transform your body. You will complete 3x 60minute group personal training sessions per week for 6 weeks where you will sculpt and shape your body. It will be hard, but you will get amazing results. There are only 8 spaces avaliable per course, so book up now and don't miss out! The course is open to members and non-members.

The course includes the following.

 Afternoon folks! Hope you've all had a good week. We're getting excited here, Winter is fading, Spring is coming, and the days are getting longer! Perfect time to start utilising those early mornings for a pre-work workout! About 10 weeks until the heart of summer too, so it's an absolutely crucial time to start working towards those summer bodies, should you feel that way inclined!

So here we go, a few updates of what's been going on at your gym recently:

This week has seen Kat deadlift a whopping 145kg in her training session with PT Amanda. We've also had Rachel B and Kat enter a powerlifting competition in May. Four weeks to go, the girls are getting excited! This will be Rachel's first competition, keep an eye out for their progress!

Weightlifting Course

Mike and Tom's weightlifting course started this week with 12 people signing up to it - and it has been fantastic! Really cracking the technique for squats. Some have squatted before and have good technique, some have never squatted before and are doing really well! Big shout out to Christian who has grasped it really well, never squatted before and has great technique! It's all about getting the perfect form to get the most out of your training. So, we've one more week of squats to go before starting on DEADLIFTS.

Don't forget, you don't have to sign up to each two-week course, they are independent of each other, so if you want to work on your Deadlifts, get yourself on the list for the following week.

Next week will also see the beginning of Clean & Jerk technique for Canton Rugby club. (Squats will continue as normal.)

Hypopressive Exercise hits Cardiff! Are you a new Mum?

Joe, co-director of aspire fitness, personal trainer and sports therapist, is a newly qualified hypopressive practitioner! This is incredibly exciting, as Joe is the only hypopressive practitioner in the whole of Wales!
